Friday Cardio

Today I did Leslie Sansone Power Walk 3 miles video. She doesn't talk with the other people and they don't have microphones so it's a great tape if your sick of her talking on and on.

Wednesday I bought a 6 lb Reebok medicine ball. Now I just need Selene Yeager's perfectly fit so I can do some exercises with it. Today I bought Leslie Sansone's WATP for Abs 2 miles and Walk Your Way 2 miles she put out for Jenny Craig in 2003. That's enough Leslie Sansone videos for me. Now I just want Richard Simmons Dance Your Pants Off. Have a great weekend.

Wednesday Strength & Yoga

Today I did the first section of the Karen Voight Streamline Fitness tape with 3 lb weights (25 min) then I did from The Method Precision Yoga section 2 Flexibility and section 3 Serenity (37 min). This is the first time I've done either of these tapes. In the yoga tape Jennifer Kries only has the hold the poses for about 3 breaths so it moves along at a good pace, your not waiting for the next pose and waiting like some yoga videos. She even does plow and my back was fine. Yea!

Monday Cardio & Strength

Today I did the first do step sections from Kelli Roberts Circuit Training video then I did the heavy weights day exercises from the Prevention March '03 article with 8 lb weights, I did 2 sets.

I've been eating to many prepared foods which end up having a lot of salt, I need to cut back. I'm going to really try. I'll blog again soon. It's back to work for me.

Sunday Cardio

Today I did the first 20 minute segment from Leslie Sansone's Weight Loss Walk video.

My shoulder muscles are a little sore. The reistance band it a tough workout if you have a heavy enough band. My lower back hurts a little, but only once in a while. Maybe I hyperextend my back a bit. Tomorrow is heavy weights day unless I'm still sore.

Saturday Cardio & Strength

Today I did one mile from WATP 2 mile tape. Then from Jim Karas book Flip the Switch, I did 2 sets of the resistance tubing and exercise ball exercises. And I used the longer green band for the legs exercises. Then I did t-stands on the ball and quadriceps exercises sitting on a chair and lots of stretches. My back doesn't hurt at all anymore. Yea! I got the tape and the book from the library.

Yesterday I did the 2 Mile Walk Away the Pounds tape.

Thursday I took a day off from exercise. The pain was so bad I took some tylenol.

I weight 134. I guess I've gained some muscle. Even if I don't loose a lot of weight it makes me feel good to exercise.

Tonight I'm going to an artist opening at a local gallery

Friday Cardio

Today I did Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds 2 mile video (30 minutes). It's from the library and it takes forever to get it there are so many people putting holds on it. It think it's the perfect length. I have the 1 mile and 3 miles WATP tapes buy need to buy a 2 mile one.

Wednesday Cardio & Strength

Today I did the first 15 minutes from Prevention's Walk Your Way Slim then I did the Quick Fix Total Body video (30 min). The third section of the QF was the hardest for me. It's a great workout, tough but not Oh my God I'm gonna die.

The pain isn't to bad today, but it had been really bad lately. Go endorphins! While I work on the computer today I'm listening to a dance album by Grace called If I could Fly. Then I have this great 80's compilation a DJ named Trent Vaughn put out a few years ago for the C89.5 fm pledge drive a few years ago. It's got songs by Camouflage, When in Rome, Echo and the Bunnymen, Celu Javu, Icicle Works, A Flock of Seaguls, Squeeze, Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, Duran Duran, The Cure, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The B-52's, The Polecats, The Sugarcubes, and The Nails. Last night Duran Duran was on Jay Leno. Simon looked thick through the middle with a red shirt and low cut pants with a wide white belt. I remember when I was about 15 I saw their documentry Blue Silver on MTV. They are still good.

Tuesday Cardio

Today I did 2 miles from Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds 3 mile tape.

When I was at Target I took a look at the finess section and saw a sign posted that my Reebok Chrome dumbells had been recalled. Yippee. It turns out they will just send you some glue to glue them together tightly. My 3 lbs are ok the the 5 and 8 lbs are under the recall. I probably will just keep making sure they are tight. What a pain. I think I'll call Target and see if they will exchange them. Glue could easily crack, sounds bad to me. http://www.jumpking.com for recall info if you have the weights. Also Nordic Track made similar that are also recalled.

Monday Cardio and Strength

I did not exercise yesterday.

Today I did Denise Austin's Swingin' to the Big Bands (35 min). It was easier to follow that Richard Simmons and not very hard but still a good workout. I got it from the Library but I would probably buy a copy if I came across one. And then I did the heavy weight day from the Prevention March '03 article using 8 lb weights and added t stands (for abs) and cross crunches on the ball (25 min). And then I did lots of stretches, I don't want to have lower back pain again. Hopefully stretching will help. I think the band workout I did the Saturday was good, I could feel it a little in my back and triceps the next day.

It is so cold and windy today. I've got a lot of work to do. Bye for now.

Saturday Cardio & Strength

Today I did the first 10 minutes of Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds 1 mile video for a warm up. Then I did the strength exercises in the body bonus section from May '04 Self Magazine. So about 30 min total. My back hurt a lot when I got up but after my workout, it's almost pain free. YEA!

I bought some new exercise videos, Rodney Yee AM Yoga for beginners and Quick Fix Total Body. I don't have any Quick Fix workouts, I watched it and it looks great. It's 3 10 minute workouts but I'll probably do all at once. I'll have to try it soon. The Yoga tape is only 20 minutes with a lot of lying relaxation to at the beginning, it was filmed at sunrise on Maui so looks really amazing.

My lower back still hurts so I didn't exercise. Stretching doesn't seem to help, maybe rest will. I could have hurt my back doing Pilates?

Thursday Cardio

Today I did 20 minutes (out of 30) of Kathy Smith's March to Fitness video. My lower back hurts a lot so I didn't do more. Well at least I tried. I don't know why, if it's because of my crappy old mattress or the cold at night.

Wednesday Pilates

Today I did Anna Caban's Beginning Pilates Workout (25 min). It's easier than before but still hard. I can see I'm getting good definition in my thighs from lifting weights. Maybe I'll try the hour long Winsor Pilates tape? Well maybe.

And I went to the Bellevue Botanical Garden and took a few photos. My camera really uses batteries up fast so I only took 3!

Sunday Cardio & Strength

Today I did the Walk Away the Pounds One mile tape (20 min) and then I did the Tonin' Uptown tape with my longer green xerband (30 min). Then I did some stretches. It seems like when I use resistance bands it's difficult to know how much work I'm doing. With Weights it weighs what it weighs but when you use the bands you can stretch them more or less, but you do work the non-working arm when you hold it still. I guess I'll use the bands again, maybe I just have to get used to them. I think for leg exercises they will be good.

Saturday Shopping

No exercise for me today.

I bought some videos. The Method Precision Yoga, Jane Fonda Yoga and Richard Simmons Tonin' Uptown and Tonin' Downtown. And I bought 3 flat circular resistance bands and a door attachment for my resistance cord that has handles. Oh and a pair of low rise flare Jeans size 11.

Friday Day Off

Today I didn't exercise. My hips and lower back hurt. I think I may need to drop my butt lower when I do exercises with weights laying on the ball on my back. I read the warning in a book before I figured out that's what I must have done. How dumb. Ouch.

Wednesday Cardio

Today I did 30 minutes from Leslie Sansone's old video Weight Loss Walk. It's like walking with aerobic dance moves in segments but no complicated combos to learn. There are 3 different 20 minutes segments, the first is one mile and segement two and three are each equal to 1 1/2 miles. Very doable but harder than her newer tapes.

Tuesday Cardio & Strength

Today I did Gin Miller Circuit Training but only the cardio portions because the weight sections didn't cover many muscles (20 min). Then I did the light weight day from the Prevention article with 3 lb weights. It seemed to easy so I don't really see the point. Next time I will only do medium and heavy or do a Shortcuts Denise Austin tape. Maybe I need some 10 lb weights?

I'm so sick of Mt. St. Helens everytime you turn the tv on. I've got lots of work to do today. Bye for now.

Monday Cardio & Yoga

Today I did the Walk Away the Pounds 1 mile tape (20 min) and then I did the Healing Yoga for Common Conditions with Lisa and Charles Matkin (35 min). The Matkins' used to work for Yoga Zone and are in a lot of their videos but now they have their own Studio. They are my favorite instructors along with Alan Finger. I like that tape because it's challenging without being too hard and only 35 minutes.

Sunday Cardio & Strength

Yesterday I did not get around to exercising because I had to go somewhere early then I ate when I got home and couldn't to it. Oops. Lots of excuses. Oh well.

Today I did Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds 1 Mile tap (20 min) then I did the heavy day of weights from the old '03 Prevention article. I did 3 sets of six reps using 8 lb weights and then I did some extra ab exercises.

I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, it was pretty good. Now I am reading Say it With Poison by Ann Granger. Last night I watched 13 going on 30 it was pretty borring. Everytime I rent a video lately, it turns out to be a waste of time. Desperate Housewives is on tonight, I hope it's good. Cio!

Friday Cardio

Today before dinner I did Shamayne Nugent's Rock and Step Workout. I did 35 min of it. It's kind of repetitious with the same sections of the music over and over again so I don't think I'll get it from the library again.
