Tuesday Cardio

Hi.
Today I did Richard Simmons Sweatin' to The Oldies (30 minutes). Not to bad so then I did Yoga Abs with Rodney Yee (20 minutes) but skipped the long breathing warm up because I was already warmed up. Tough ab work, I just did what I could. I have lots of work to do today so that's all for now. Bye!

Monday Cardio

Today I did the Denise Austin Step Workout video (30 min) with no risers on the step. The steps weren't too complicated and the pace wasn't to intense. I'll probably do it again. It's sunny and nice today.

Sunday Strength, Yoga

Today I did the arms and hips sections from The Method Target Specifics video (15 min. each) then the Abs Yoga video (20 minutes). One of the neighbors down the street was blaring their music all day. I couldn't take it anymore and left for a few hours and it was still going when I came home.

Saturday Walking & Pilates

Today I did the Leslie Sansone In Home Walking One mile video (17 minutes) and then the first section of The Method Target Specifics video which is Pilates (15 minutes). I bought a new video, Richard Simmons Broadway Blast Off, it's shorter than the others at 30 minutes.

Thursday Cardio

Today I did Richard Simmons Groovin in the House (1 hour). It was fun. I was going to just warm up to it for a few minutes, but I was having such a great time I just did the whole tape.

Wednesday Walking

Yesterday I bought some 8 lb dumbbells and 3 1/2 lb adjustable ankle weights.

Today I did the Leslie Sansone one Mile In Home Walking tape with mom. And then some stretches. (about 20 minutes). I didn't even break a sweat, progress!! I will try to do some pilates later. It was raining this morning but now it's dry and getting sunny. Yea!

Today I did Denise Austin's Shortcuts Arm, Shoulders, and Chest. I did the first section (10 minutes) after warming up because she gives the fastest warm-up I've ever seen. Then I did the first 17 minutes of Kathy Smith's Step workout for buns and thighs with my step without risers. Boy that was a really tough workout. Then I did a few stretches. Tomorow I plan on doing Pilates. Bye for now.

Sunday Pilates

Yesterday I got a New Balance polyester short sleeve shirt that's supposed to dry fast to exercise in, mom got 2. And I got a polyester and spandex tank too.

Today I did the Ana Caban beginning Pilates Tape (about 20 minutes). She was much easier to follow than Hillary Burnett who didn't show any modifications for beginners, and not borring like Moira Stott. It was not to bad, I did all the but last rep of the teaser unmodified. The open leg rocker was very hard for me, hopefully it will get easier with practice. I plan on getting the intermediate mat vidoe when I've master this tape. I got serveral videos from the library to try, Kathy Smith, Denise Austin and The Method.

My weight this morning was 130. Gee it's been years since the scale has said that. Maybe freshman year college? So nearly 14 years. I have a pair of Ralph Lauren "Saturday jeans" size 6, it's my goal to wear them. They have a low rise and are a big six, they will fit soon I hope. I have some fat above my butt (below the waist) that needs to budge first and my tummy needs to be smaller. I'll try to keep up on the cardio and weights and not have whole fat yogurt or cottage cheese. I still have one soda a day either Hanson's Mandarin Lime or Henry Winehard's rootbeer and I have lemon lime seltzer water. I quit drinking pepsi, something I did since I was 10, but I don't miss it. Cutting out the caffeine got rid of a lot of headaches.

I went to the fruit stand and bought some nectarines. Yum. Tonight I'm going to make Meatloaf, just a small one from one pound of hamburger. I don't often eat meat, it seems so heavy buy it's been cool and rainy so will cook for a change. I recently made a no-bake blueberry cheesecake. It's to rich, like eating a big gob blueberry cream cheese so I don't like it. I got the recipe from Self magazine, last April I think. Next time I want a treat I'll just get a single slice of frozen cheesecake or 2 cupcakes at a good bakery. There were times in the past when I ate 3 or more candy bars in one sitting. That just doesn't appeal to me anymore. I'll blog again soon.

Today I did Leslies Sansone's Power Walk 3 Miles (about 45 minutes). Mom said she wants a polyester athletic shirt to wear when she walks, she gets to sweaty wearing cotton t-shirt. Maybe I'll get one to. Have a great day.

Wednesday

Today I did the Leslie Sansone Power Firm video for the lower body. Then I did the exercised from the Prevention article with 5 lb weights except for the triceps exercise I used 3 lbs and I added squats. I think using the stablitly ball for a weight bench is very challenging for your abs abs and butt. I'm wiped out. It's pretty hot already. I guess I should get up earlier and do it when it's cooler.

The pain has been pretty bad lately. I'm just trying to hang on for a time when it's not so bad. That's enough whining for me today.

No exercise yesterday.

Today I did Richard Simmons Sweating to the Oldies. It wasn't very hard and under 30 minutes and it was fun. I got a pair of khaki Gap pants yesterday.

It was only 73 yesterday, that's about as hot as I like it. I hope it stays in the 70's.

Sunday

Today I weigh 131 or is it 132? I have a manual scale but let's call it 131. Wow, it's hard to believe. Today I did a set full body weight exercises from March 2003 Prevention Magazine. I cut the article out months ago but never did it. There are 3 days of weights with 8 exercises each day : Light Medium and Heavy. I did the light day with 3 and 5 lbs. It was a good workout. I did 1/2 a mile from Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the pounds 3 mile tape before hand to warm-up, then watched/listened to the Olympic Men's Swimming preliminary races while doing the weights. Then I finished with stretches. I like doing weights with the whole body in one day, if you just do upper etc then you have fewer days to lift the same part per week. It's time saving!

I bought two new videos today Lelsie Sansone's In Home Walking One mile from 1998, and Living Arts Rodney Yee Yoga for Abs. I have lot's of tapes to use now. The Abs is just 20 minutes which is great because most of my yoga tapes are 40 minutes. I'll Blog again soon.

Saturday

No exercise for me today.

At the Cold Stone Creamery in Kirkland I had "Cake Batter" ice cream. Yuck horrible awful gross. Never again. It was probably vanilla with runny cake batter mixed in and bits of chocoalte cake and lots of different colored sprinkles.

Then I went to Denny's Pet World in Totem Lake. It was their anniversary Sale. I got a bag of dog food and lots of free samples. My doggies are very happy with their treats. The Cocker Spaniel really likes chicken so tonight he can split a can of Merrick "Granny's Pot Pie" dog food with the Golden in their usual dry food. I also got a couple of "Greenies", they look like nylabones but are edible. I'll let the Golden have those after I try to find out what they are. Once they had Boda brand pigs ears that were made of cornstarch and they were a big sticky mess. Bye.

Friday

Today I did Leslie Sansone's Power Walk 3 miles C.2000 (from the Library). It was 45 minutes and she doesn't chat with other walkers, she just gives you instructions and she needs to because it's a lot more active than the regular walk away the pounds videos. They wore weighted gloves, I would never, it's not good on your joints to carry weights when you walked. Tomorrow I think I'll do the Balance Ball for Abs video.

And I made 4 quarts of applesauce today with part of the 15 pounds I got yesterday. Bye.

Stressed out

Yesterday I didn't exercise.

I did the 30 minute aerobic workout from the Kathy Ireland Total Fitness Workout video. It was more challenging to do the all the different steps than a Leslie Sansone video, but I'm sure it's easier on the knees because it's not all in one place. There are also two toning segments, but I didn't do either, I just did some lunges squats and push ups. Yesterday I bought that (Kathy Ireland) video and The Method Target Specifics: Abs, Arms, Hips, Thighs which has 4 15 minute segments including the standing pilates workout with weights for arms that's on some of the other Method videos. It's a lot more fun than regular bicep curls etc.

This morning after exercising I was feeling stressed out. I don't know why. Lack of sleep from the heat maybe? I feel better now.

I bought some white peaches and regular yellow from the fruit stand. I like the regular ones better. Bye for now.

Thorny Tomatoes

We have 3 blueberry bushes in the backyard. I picked some today, but there aren't many berries left. In the front yard in the rosebushes we have tomatoes growing. I was picking some cherry tomatoes this afternoon and I pricked the knuckle of my thumb. Ouch. There are lots of green tomatoes. I keep thinking that soon the will all be ripe and the same time. So far there doesn't seem to be an excess ripe on a given day. It was my mom's idea to put the tomatoes in with roses. I have two dogs so I won't put them in the backyard, the golden retriever loves to lift his leg on everything out back. I'll just have to be more careful next time. I planted some forget me nots (blue flowers) from seeds and only one grew! It's blooming now, I hope it comes back next year like it's supposed too. Next time I will plant many more seed than I think I need.

Tuesday

Today I did the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds 2 miles. I didn't lift my knees as high as before and tried not to pound my feet hard like they do on the video. Then I did some stretches with mom. I think it's going to be hot again today. I really need to do some lower body weight work tomorrow.

Often I will have cottage cheese with lunch. A few weeks ago I switched from regular 4% milkfat to 2% lowfat. I've been drinking 2% milk for a few years and this week I've been mixing it roughly half with non-fat. I don't really like 1% but maybe I can work my way down. I do need to stop eating whole milk yogurt. I don't eat a lot of cheddar cheese, I went to use some the other day and it was moldy. I like to use a little Parmesan sometimes. I don't eat breakfast, I do need to try.

Today I did the Leslie Sansone 2 mile High Calorie Burn 30 minute video. I am starting to wonder if all that fast marching in place isn't bad on your knees? My knees don't hurt buy I certainly don't want them to either. Then I did from The Method Balanced Zones on the third section I did the side leg series a the final 15 minutes of the tape. It's pilates side leg lifts etc. I didn't do the leg weight work I intended to and now it's to hot.

I will try to do legs and upper body strength work tomorrow. Blog again soon.

Saturday

Today I did half a mile of the Leslie Sansone walking video then I did the upper body section of the Precision Pilates video with 3 lb weights. I think my posture is very good now from the weights and my shoulders are nicely sculpted.

I grated up some peppers in the food processor for making pepper relish. After I washed my hand I notice the back of one of my fingers looked burned so I put some Aquaphor ointment on and now it looks fine and doesn't hurt anymore. Next time I'll wear plastic gloves. Bye.

Today I did the Kathy Smith Lower body from the LWTLW video. It was a killer. Next time I think I'll just to the Lifting Weights for Dummies. It's easier but still a good weight workout.

Yesterday I did the upper body workout from Jennifer Kries Precision Pilates with 3 lb weights. I can feel it a little today, better than the Kathy Smith LWTLW upper exercise.

Today I did the Leslie Sansone Power Firm video for my legs. Then I cleaned the floors then I went through some clothes to find some to giveaway. Fun. It's pretty hot today.

Last night someone was burning garbage, I hope they get caught and fined. It really stunk.
